Timesheet Really Is Free.
It's true. Journyx Timesheet™ really is available for free. For 10 users. Forever. Absolutely, 100% free. Not "free for 60 days." Not "free if you buy this timeshare in Florida." Just plain free.
But why? Why on earth would we give away perfectly good software? Because we're crazy? Because we're deranged and have mental problems? Well, maybe. Our friends might agree with that. Our families definitely do.
But in the end it's really simple. We give our software away for two three five seven little reasons.
- It drives our competitors nuts. And we just love to do that.
They don't give their software away for more than about 15 days because they know that if you use it for 16 days you'll find out that it doesn't work very well and that it doesn't really solve your business problem.
We give ours away forever because we think you should have all the time in the world to evaluate and decide for yourself what will work best for your company.
It's one of the many reasons our competitors hate our guts. Because we deliver more value to people for less money - in many cases, actually in most cases, for no money at all.
- We're nice folks.
We like to help small companies grow and succeed. We were small once. That's no BS.
- It gets more people using our software, liking it and us.
Someday they'll be in a bigger company, either because the company they're in will grow or because they'll get a new job, and they'll know us, like us, and they'll buy from us.
- It discourages shoddy new entrants to the market.
If you're a small consulting firm and you're thinking of writing a timesheet application for some customer, don't. Just use ours. It's free for the first 10 users. Give it to them and tell them you wrote it. We don't care. Or become a reseller of our stuff. It's easy to do.
Most of the hundreds of so-called competitors that have entered our market are basically 2 guys in a garage who did a consulting job for some client and then did that client a great disservice by writing some timesheet software from scratch which isn't robust or scalable or usable or supportable and then bolting off with the code and deciding to sell it on the Internet.
The problem with all these two man shops is that they just put price pressure on the real companies, like Journyx, and confuse the customers and make them throw up their hands in bewilderment saying "Look at the hundreds of companies pushing this crap. I'll never be able to decide. Forget it!"
They're noise in the signal and they waste everyone's time, including their own because they're never going to make any money pushing all that junk.
- It discourages the use of lame substitutions.
The biggest offender here is Microsoft Excel, which will waste your time, drive you crazy and ultimately cost you money as you forget to bill your clients or lose track of your costs.
- Great New Ideas.
We treasure the suggestions and ideas we get from the tens of thousands of companies worldwide that run their businesses on our software every day and have never paid us a dime because they're under 10 users. It's like we have armies of employees testing and evaluating our technology on both our freetimesheet.com ASP site and on the free 10 user version of our software, except we don't have to pay those people anything.
This lets us bring a higher quality product that costs less money to create to the customers who do pay us.
- It helps us get our foot in the door at large companies, too.
Managers of smaller departments inside larger organizations can make use of the free & unlimited Timesheet, too. They can track their time and improve their profitability, and when the "big boys" come calling to find out just how things got better, Timesheet will be there looking nice and shiny.
