Journyx Acquires Buzzword Technologies
Austin-based computer consulting firm to bolster technical support and professional services for Journyx
AUSTIN, Texas, USA — January 16, 2001 — Journyx, the established leader in workforce management applications, has acquired a majority of the assets and employees of Austin-based Buzzword Technologies, a computer consulting firm specializing in technology systems and network infrastructure support. The acquisition will serve to augment the technical support and professional services functions for Journyx to keep up with growing market demand for the Journyx TimesheetTM family of solutions.
"As our relationship with Journyx progressed, it became clear that the market demand for their products was simply exploding," said Scott Whitney, former CEO of Buzzword. "We were having success as a stand-alone company but this was an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and profitable organization headed in the right direction."
"We have worked closely with these individuals for some time now," said Journyx President Bill Leake. "After seeing firsthand their capabilities, acquiring the talent on a permanent basis was a natural next step for us. It will strengthen our technical support and professional services as we continue our rapid corporate expansion."
