Press Room
Journyx to Participate in Intuit's QuickBooks 2003 Power Launch

AUSTIN, Texas, USA, November 13, 2002 - JournyxTM, the leader in web-based workforce time and expense management, today announced plans to begin beta testing for Journyx AccountlinkTM, which will enable data sharing between Journyx Timesheet and Intuit's QuickBooks® 2003 products - including QuickBooks Pro 2003, QuickBooks Premier 2003 and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 2.0. As a member of both the Intuit Developer Network and the QuickBooks 2003 Power Launch program, Journyx has developed a program that shares data between Journyx Timesheet and QuickBooks 2003 products, through use of Timesheet's XML application programming interface and QuickBooks Software Development Kit v2.0. The link between the two products allows customers to automate their time capture information with their accounting platform.

"The American Payroll Association estimates that automation reduces payroll processing costs by 80%," said Curt Finch, CEO of Journyx. "By integrating Journyx Timesheet with QuickBooks 2003, organizations can significantly reduce data entry errors, streamline their payroll process, and realize this substantial cost savings."

Companies engaged in project-driven work or a dispersed workforce often require additional, robust functionality out of their timekeeping system. While there are other stand-alone timesheet products on the market, most of them have difficulties accurately and easily transferring that timesheet data into their accounting platform, resulting in extra work for tasks such as payroll automation, billing and invoicing. The combination of Journyx Timesheet and QuickBooks 2003 comes to the rescue, bringing robust timekeeping functionality that can be easily integrated into one of the most popular accounting programs.

"Intuit and Journyx both recognize that small business owners juggle many daily tasks and that they are constantly looking for ways to streamline their operations," said Esther Kruijver, director of the Intuit Developer Network. "Enabling the exchange of data between Journyx Timesheet and the QuickBooks 2003 products will help small businesses save time and manage their resources more efficiently, allowing them to spend more time actually running their business."

The Intuit Developer Network gives third-party developers access to the QuickBooks SDK (Software Development Kit) that helps developers create new applications and enhance existing products to enable data sharing with the QuickBooks 2003 products. These QuickBooks-integrated applications are promoted to Intuit's small business customers through the QuickBooks Solutions Marketplace (http://marketplace.intuit.com) and through other marketing programs.

To sign up for the Journyx Accountlink Beta Program interested parties can go to the Journyx website at http://www.journyx.com/albeta.html for participation instructions. As always, all Journyx Timesheet products are available completely free for evaluation. Employees can use any web browser to enter and report on their data, allowing for convenient and easy access to real-time information whether on the corporate intranet, or from the other side of the world.
