Journyx Announces Five U.S. Patents For Time And Expense Tracking Methods And Software

AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 6, 2005)  Journyx - the leader in web-based time and expense tracking solutions that automate invoicing, payroll and project management - today announced that five patent applications have been examined by the United States Patent and Trademark Office and allowed for issuance as U.S. patents. The patents include methods for building Graphical User Interface (GUI) screens for a time keeping and expense tracking system, and a method for performing enhanced marketing operations on the Internet.

The five patents are:

  1. Method and apparatus for wireless Web time and expense entry via time keeping and expense tracking server access (No. 6,753,884)
    1. The time keeping and expense tracking server examines a user's ID to determine his group affiliations and ability levels for modifying the parameters, objects and layout of a GUI screen. The time keeping and expense tracking server allows the user to make changes according to his defined abilities.
  2. Method and apparatus for monitoring contractor performance (No. 6,751,650)
    1. The time keeping and expense tracking server is formed to receive and interpret signals that define the user ID, an account code, and whether a start or stop timekeeping event has been selected. It also is operable to monitor the performance of the contract employees and employers, and, more specifically, to monitor average unit cost and several responsiveness parameters.
  3. Time keeping and expense tracking server that interfaces with a user based upon a user's atomic abilities (6,750,885)
    1. The time keeping and expense tracking server generates GUI display screens in a format representing tabbed index cards wherein the displayed tabs represent organizational information for which the user has atomic abilities to access the information.
  4. Time keeping and expense tracking server that interfaces with a user based upon a user's atomic abilities (6,747,679)
    1. A user may dial a specified number and may respond to, either questions generated by an IVR or to text generated by the time keeping and expense tracking server to enter his ID, his account code, and whether he is selecting for the time-keeping function to start or stop. The server then tracks time and stores the user time entries according to user ID, and according to account code.
  5. Application software add-on for enhanced internet based marketing (6,282,567)
    1. A method for performing enhanced marketing operations upon the Internet enables a company web server to employ a client web server in its marketing efforts.
