Can I change the names of projects, tasks and other items in the system using standard imports?

In the event that you wish to rename a system object such as a project or a task, Journyx Timesheet versions 7.1 and higher have a feature that allows you to efficiently rename these system objects using import files rather than changing each system object manually. In your import files, create a new column labeled 'NewName' immediately after the column containing the Name or PrettyName columns. The old name should be in the PrettyName or ProjectName column, depending on which import tool you are using. The new name should be in the NewName column and in the row cell to the right of the old name. Importing the file will change the names to the values in the NewName column.

How can I set up new project dependencies quickly if my projects share similar values by phase rather than by parent project?

Customers have different standard patterns for what task/pay type/etc. values are valid for each type of project. While Timesheet includes a feature for the "parent-child" connection that allows customers to automatically copy dependent values from the parent project to all child projects, there is no similar feature in the interface that allows you to copy dependencies from child to child based on phase similarities. However, the dependency import tool can be used to maintain and copy similar sets of dependencies from project to project quickly and easily. You can maintain a sample dependency import file with a list of valid dependencies for each type of project. You can then copy them over to new projects with similar types of child projects/phases.
